> One to One Coaching

Our approach to one to one coaching is underpinned by a number of overarching objectives:

  • To use interventions that are supported by a solid evidence base
  • To improve the performance of the individual in their workplace
  • To empower the individual to become self – correcting
  • To enable the individual to be able to continue their own development independently

We have been accredited to be on the panel of coaches at Citi and GSK. A number of us are members of the Special Group in Coaching Psychology of the British Psychological Society. We maintain our own personal development and expertise in this area by receiving regular 1:1 and group supervision of our coaching practice.

Assignments have been carried out at Board, MD, Director, and Senior / Middle Manager level. We excel in:

  • Clarifying people’s unique strengths and working with them to determine how they can use these more at work.
  • Developing management and leadership skills, especially in individuals who have recently been promoted, or are seeking promotion.
  • Helping senior people align strategies across different departments within their business.
  • Giving people the skill and resources to manage difficult situations.
  • Enabling individuals who have reached a cross road in their career path to actively make decisions about where they want to go next.
  • Challenging individuals to see the benefits of attitudinal change.
  • Helping people to understand their work and business in the wider context of their lives overall.

Our coaching style:

  • Involves clarifying objectives for the coaching process and regularly reviewing progress against these.
  • Blends the requirements of the individual with those of the business.
  • Uses an integrated mix of theory and models in a practical way that is tailored to the individual’s needs.
  • Is appropriately questioning and challenging, thus allowing individuals to see things from a different perspective.
  • Continually brings the individual back to the actions he / she can take to achieve their goals and overcome their challenges.

> Team Coaching and Development

Our work with senior and top teams includes:

  • Facilitating their strategy
  • Addressing interpersonal dynamics and personality differences
  • Enhancing team effectiveness
  • Enabling the team to deal with conflict constructively
  • Aligning behind a new CE’s vision
  • Empowering the team to lead transformational organizational change
  • Harnessing the diversity of individual styles in the team

Whilst all team interventions are different and each has to be designed specifically for the client team there is an approach that underpins the final product:

  • Where appropriate there is a rigorous diagnostic phase which involves interviewing all team members and other key stakeholders to gather their views on areas that might include:
    • The current strategic imperatives and how to prioritise them
    • The recent and expected challenges
    • How the individuals in the team are currently working together
    • The direction and alignment of the team
    • How the team innovates
    • What would constitute a successful team intervention
  • The information gathered in the interviews is used as the foundation for the design of the team workshop and the findings from the interviews are often played back to the team at the beginning of the team away day.
